Kevin and Stephanie Van Wyk met at Central College (Pella IA), where they both received degrees in Music Education. Kevin then went on to study at Fuller Theological Seminary where he received a Master’s of Divinity in 1999. He then served in Sheboygan Falls, WI. and Evansdale, IA.
In 2005, Kevin lead a core group to plant Bridge of Hope in Iowa's most segregated city, Waterloo. The church has been intentional about crossing generational, economic, and now ethnic barriers. While Bridge of Hope is home to African-Americans, Asians, Brazilians, and whites; significant populations of Hispanics and Bosnians are unconnected. You can see more at www.bridgeofhopechurch.com.
Kevin and Stephanie, have two little boys and a little girl. Ian, born 2001, loves golf, football, baseball, basketball and reading. Zackary, born 2003, enjoys gymnastics and leading worship songs at home, at church, and in the supermarket. Elyssa, born 2005, loves her dolls, music and gymnastics.
