Mosaix Launches a Church Planting Initiative at Exponential Global 2026
By Mark DeYmaz

Since 2004, Mosaix has championed the establishment of healthy multiethnic churches. Today, the movement is bearing visible fruit. What once felt aspirational has become demonstrable, and sustainable.

As of 2024, approximately 22 percent of U.S. congregations now meet the sociological definition of a multiracial church, up from just 6 percent in 1998. This growth spans Catholic, Mainline Protestant, and Evangelical traditions alike. As sociologist Michael Emerson has noted, “The first quarter century of the Multiethnic Church Movement produced a demographic miracle. God is working.”

Yet numbers alone are not the goal.

If the first twenty-five years of this movement brought integration, the next twenty-five must bring maturity. Churches must move beyond assimilation—where differences are absorbed into a dominant culture—and toward accommodation, where diverse cultures are sustained, empowered, and mutually shaping life together in Christ.

In response to a question I have heard repeatedly from church planters:

I can't find a church planting network specifically offering community, guidance, and resourcing for people like me who are planting multiethnic churches? Is that something Mosaix offers?

Until now, apart from coaching and cohorts, the answer's been no. On March 16, 2026, however, we said yes!

MXM is a church planting initiative designed specifically for:

  • Planters and pastors willing to embrace the uncommon faith, courage, and sacrifice required to establish a healthy multiethnic church or transition an existing homogeneous one.
  • Denominational and network leaders who recognize the need to establish such churches but lack the internal capacity and expertise required to holistically form leaders for complex, diverse contexts.
